Two things that I have failed to do since arriving in Eugene are (1) buy a car and (2) become a hippy. On Friday I set myself on the road to resolving both of these issues at a party in `the Whittaker', the area of Eugene where drugs, dancing girls and alternative lifestyles abound. Also the area of town where my boss lives. Huh!


The party was hosted by Tony, apparently the man in the know when it comes to buying, selling and repairing classic Mercedes. And that's just the kind of car I've been keeping an eye out for. They last forever, look cool and if I want biodiesel Tony can "sort me out". I'll probably wait another few months before making a decision---but good to know this Mercedes heaven exists. Moreover, the party was balling.
