Part 2: Cottaging, but not that kind

I know, it's nearly the end of July, and I'm still back in June. But something else important did happen, and it needs to be documented. The news is that Allison and I are now living in The Cottage. It all happened over a couple of crazy days at the end of June. Mum had just left, I was preparing a last-minute talk for a conference, but somehow everything got packed, moved and unpacked in a very short space of time, and with minimal breakages. Mainly due to Allison's efforts, of course, but I did my bit and the Liz and Kathryn helped massively, too.

So, I guess I'd better show you what cottaging is all about. First up is my new office, the backyard:

Here's the kitchen, and living room:

And here's the view from the front. Benz just visible, to the left.

Basically, I would say that cottages are a good thing.

Next time, I go automatic for the people in Athens, GA, and meet George HW Bush. Tune in!

Sometimes, I like to play Elliott Smith, because hey we're in Oregon and I also kind of love his guitar playing.
Song of the day (35)

And, er, one more thing. I started this little old blog a year ago. How did it get this far?

That cottage looks amazing. Any scope for DIY?

Well, we're just renting, of course, so it's probably tricky.

But, the attic would be perfect to convert into a master bedroom. If I owned it, I'd do that and throw a couple of dormer windows on the back...ah well. Some day! Glad you like it, anyway.
