Box of Rain

I ended up listening a fair amount to the Grateful Dead while Allison's friend KP was visiting last weekend. It was awesome to see her, but Box of Rain pretty much summed up Eugene for the whole visit.

Right now it's sunny again, but what was wet and miserable for us seems to've been good for the garden. Remember the herbs we planted?

Now they look like this:

Definite growth there, right? And the coriander (cilantro, as they insist on calling it here) tastes awesome. Here's the rest of that planter and a close-up of one of the rose-bushes:

Tune in again for more gardener's-world-type updates.

I was thinking of putting some Dead on here as Song of the Day, but last week I also came across this modern classic. It puts together three great MCs (and one so-so), plus the best hip-hop producer in history. Check it out.

Guess what? Mr Monk has a blog. A lot of it is about techie stuff, which may or may not turn you on, but I see he's now ventured into civil liberties and DNA-databasing. Oh my. Anyway, I'm proud to add a link to my cobwebbed side-bar.
